Google I/O GDE Field Test — AI Race Coach at Sonoma Raceway
Abstract
At the Google I/O GDE Field Test on Sonoma Raceway, I joined a global cohort of Google Developer Experts to build a real-time AI Race Coach. The project used Antigravity for stateful orchestration, Gemini API for cloud reasoning, Gemma 4 for on-device edge intelligence, and Jetpack Compose for a high-refresh Android dashboard. The system processed 10 Hz telemetry streams from a custom USB interface wired into the vehicle, delivering audio coaching via TTS and real-time visual insights to drivers on the track.
